i'm kind of surprised actually...i first heard about it here before it was even available but close to the time it did come out people started bringing it up - even our co.. some say things like "have you heard about this?

" or "big changes," or "allot of things they said we believed, i didn't realize,"(lots of that) or "brain-overload" or " too much information, but i've never felt more pumped up" or "it's soo exciting to see jehovah's spirit lead his organization..." or "it requires time to sink in, but it's a good feeling!

our friend, oompa, has passed away.

just recieved the news a couple of hours ago, and have almost no details.

it happened today or yesterday, he took his own life.

I haven't been on JWD in months but stopping by to pay my respects. Eric was a friend, and I spent time with him in New York and NC. His is a tragedy unquestionably linked to the WT and its draconian policies. I wish the best for his sons - thankfully Eric helped at least 2 of them escape the cult. My heart is with them and Eric's friends now.

" is their motto.. being the center of attention doesn't bother them as much as it encourages them to be all they can be...in full public view.. .

As a card-carrying nudist I disagree that nudism is about exhibitionism. It's about freedom. I practice nudism in appropriate areas, along with other nudists. In the USA we have a puritanical sense about the human body, that it needs to be covered up, unless you're a model/goddess type.

At the nudist resorts I've been to you see it all, from child to elderly, from skinny to obese, from sound to amputees, deformed, and missing breasts. Any mature nudist can take this all in and say it's a celebration of life and the human form, in all its forms. So I don't appreciate the analogy from clothes-minded folks.

Why, is he late or something? I usually call him Jesus Fucking Christ, when I talk about the mythological figure... just like Santa Fucking Claus.

Thanks Jamie for letting me know about this thread... I think it's been about 6 months since I've been on JWN... nice to see so many newbies and people coming out of the org.

I'm doing well, moving on with my life and getting it to where I want it to be, in a great relationship with a non-JW and hoping to start a family in the next couple of years. I haven't been paying too much attention to the exJW world as it becomes less and less relevant to my current life, although I am using my degree in non-profit management to good use by being the treasurer for FreeMinds.

I still want to write a book about my experience, so once I'm ready to write, stay tuned...

In Gilead, Liverance made some conjecture about the 7000 year creation periods that I found disturbing. I had thought that the Society had abandoned the 7,000 year creative day stuff (as in the old green Bibles). And he re-iterated the idea that if we would know the age of Adam when Eve was created we would be able to predict the date of Armageddon, tho Wally insisted that it must be really, really, really close.

Bowen supposedly knew Hebrew and Greek, so given the Society's stance on not researching the Hebrew and Greek, that was bound to get him in trouble, LOL.
